Guide to Pallets & Bulk Materials
Most of what we sell is available for purchase in either Pallets or as Bulk Material. As you go through our extensive list of products you will see most of them listed this way. It is important to consider how the product is sold so you can determine how much product and materials you need and whether delivery or pick-up is the best option for you.
Palletized Stone
All of our palletized stone is priced by the square foot or by the ton. If you don’t want to purchase a full ton of material, you may purchase any amount you like. We can deliver or you can pick it up at our location. See our delivery and pick-up guides for more information. Here are some simple guidelines to follow to guarantee you are happy with your experience at Stone Forest:
- Each pallet averages around a ton and a half. Some may be more, some less.
- Each pallet will have a tag that includes the product name on the front and a weight written on the back.
- Material priced by the ton is always prorated down to the pound. For example, if something is $240 per ton, the per pound price is $0.12.
- Pallets of stand-up flagstone are the only natural stone products that are sold by the pallet only.
- If you wish to purchase a full pallet, just show one of our staff members which one you would like and they will take care of the rest.
- If you need less than a full pallet, please select one that has been opened already. One of our staff members will adjust the pallet to the desired weight for deliveries or help you load it in your vehicle.
- We do not allow customers to “pick through” pallets when purchasing less than full pallet quantities. You must start at the top and work your way down the open pallet, taking layer by layer.
Bulk Materials
Purchasing in bulk is a cost-effective way to purchase material. Sand, mulch, and gravel are examples of just some of the material you can purchase in bulk. When you buying bulk products you are saving some green and thinking green at the same time. In this case, green means no more plastic bags destined for the landfill once the job is done. Stone Forest makes it easy to pick up bulk material or have it delivered. Here are some helpful tips for purchasing in bulk:
- If you are unsure of what or how much you need, please come in the showroom and speak to one of our staff members. We are always ready to help.
- Mulches and Soils are sold by the cubic yard in half-yard increments. A half yard is one scoop from our small loader (like a bobcat). We have a large loader capable of loading one full yard at a time as well.
- Sand, gravel, bulk river rock and bulk fieldstone are priced by the ton and they are always prorated down to the pound. For example if something is $240 per ton, the per pound price is $0.12.
- When purchasing bulk material for pick-up, it is always a good idea to bring the proper vehicle. Check out our Pick-Up Guide for more information.
