Pine Straw
Pine Straw
Here in Georgia, Pine Straw is a beautiful, native ground cover that has many benefits. Is is lightweight and easy to spread for starters. It won’t float away in heavy rains and can help control erosion because of the interweaving characteristics of the pine needles. Pine Straw also adds nutrients back to the soil after it breaks down providing your planting beds with additional natural fertilizers. Planting beds also benefit from having excellent water and oxygen penetration through the Pine Straw to the soil below. It’s an economical and renewable resource because no trees are ever harvested to produce Pine Straw. Oh, and last but not least, it looks great! Pine Straw’s consistent deep reddish brown color will complement any landscape. Our pine straw bales are 13″ x 15″ x 28-30″ long, weigh approximately 25 pounds, and contain 4 cubic feet of America’s all-natural ground cover. You may expect coverage of 45 square feet from spreading a bale 2.5″ deep / 25 square feet from spreading 4” deep upon initial application. On refreshing applications, a bale will cover approximately 80 square feet.
